OSR review of ONS stakeholder engagement: online survey
The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR), the regulatory arm of the UK Statistics Authority is currently conducting a thematic review of how effectively the Office for National Statistics (ONS) engages with users of its statistics. The review is examining how ONS gathers, understands and responds to user needs, and how engagement supports the continued relevance and public value of official statistics.
They are keen to understand:
- how effectively ONS engages with users and stakeholders;
- whether user needs are understood and acted upon;
- examples of effective engagement and collaboration;
- any barriers to engagement experienced by users; and
- opportunities for ONS to improve its engagement approach.
As LARIA represents professionals working in research, intelligence, analysis and policy roles, OSR believe members are likely to have valuable experience both as users of ONS statistics and, in some cases, as representatives of wider user communities.
As part of the review, OSR have launched an online survey to gather evidence on users’ experiences of engaging with ONS. They would be extremely grateful if LARIA members could complete this survey which will remain open until 5 October 2026.
