The concept of identity is complex and dependent upon various factors; nature, nurture and everything in between.

Historically, the UK has identified with the national identity more than any other, but we’re now seeing a shift to feeling less connected to the rest of our UK population.  The BBC has published figures from the Who Do We Think We Are study. The UK population feels more connected to both neighbourhood and global communities compared to ten years ago, but ties with others in the UK are getting weaker rather than stronger.

What do you think? Are you strongly linked to your local community and do feel the same connection to the global community? Do you think of yourself as British? Scottish? European?
